What is Instagram? 

Instagram is a mobile application that allows you to take edit and share photos and videos. your friends and family can follow you on Instagram to see your picture and video posts. you can also follow your friends and family as well as celebrities and athletes to keep up with their posts. you can choose to have your post be public for anyone to see or make your account private. So you can pick and choose who is allowed to see your posts.

How does Instagram work?

When you start using the Instagram app. the first thing you'll want to do is find people to follow whenever someone you follow posts a new picture or video. it'll show up in your Instagram app timeline.

You can search for specific people to follow or browse through the Instagram app discover page for suggestions to access discover go to your profile. then click the button in the top left corner. here you'll find a list of people Instagram suggests for you to follow. if you see a page you're interested in the following click to follow beside their name to follow them.

If you have a picture or video you want to share with your friends family and followers you can upload it to Instagram and post it. you can edit it and add a filter to give it a more unique look. when you're done editing tap next now you can add a caption to your post and if you want. you can share the post on your other social media accounts like Facebook or Twitter. when you're ready tap share to post it.

How to sign up for an Instagram Account?

Open the Instagram app on your device. then tap sign up type in your email address then tap next. you'll be asked for your name. you'll be asked to choose a password to secure your Instagram account. enter the password you want to use then hit next you get to choose a username for your account. type in the username you want to use then tap next.

How to Make your Account Private?

If you don't want anyone and everyone to be able to see your posts you can make your account private on Instagram. You need to go to your profile then click the gear button to access your settings scroll down until you see a private account. then slide the switch over to enable account privacy once the switch changes color your account is now private.

Reshare an Instagram post to Story

Open the Instagram app and find the post you want to share. then tap the paper airplane icon below the picture or video in the menu. that appears tap add post to your story the image will be added to an editing screen. the username of the person who originally shared the image or video will be automatically added to the bottom left corner of the image move. 

the image around with your finger or use two fingers to resize or rotate it now you can add caption tag friends or swipe to add a filter. when you're done tap the plus sign icon labeled your story at the bottom to post it. that's all it takes to share an existing Instagram post to your story.
